Is the beauty industry oversaturated?

There’s always new innovation popping up but is it TOO much?

the chicken/egg question of supply & demand! Definitely oversaturated for the planet, but then again, I did just buy 4 new lipsticks so…

Right? I think for those of us that are “beauty obsessed” we’ll never look at it as oversaturated but I can understand the other side for sure.

Agree! I think there is a lot of me-too stuff that’s unnecessary but I love all the new brands and trends happening

For me, yes. It’s a bit much to keep up with.

I agree. The beauty industry is an oversaturated place! For me, I get very excited when I see my favorite brands (even if I’m not actively purchasing at the moment) crush it on marketing strategy or who generate that influencer buzz!

Oversaturated is a tough situation or status to dissect because even though on one hand I think the beauty industy has become overstaturated with new brands and constant innovation (before a consumer has a chance to use and build loyalty to a product), on the other hand, I believe that this is how brands and products come to life and into our lives. So, there may be period of oversaturation, but if these newcomers don’t dare to dream and enter the competitive landscape of the beauty industry then we won’t be introduced to new products and brands that have a point of view, or have a better shade range, or have a better skincare infusion, and so forth.
It can definitely be overwhelming as a consumer, but we shouldn’t discourage innovation for the sake of oversaturation, because in the end, some brands will stay and some will go… some products will stay and some will go…
We can work through the noise and we can find the products we want to try and the brands we believe in. And, if you need help, comment here and we will help you!
