Low maintenance self care recs

I have been feeling very down and depressed with the state of the world and wanted to share some easy doable ways to honor your mental health in case anyone here is feeling the same. Personal/self care is an absolute necessity even when (especially when!) you’re not feeling your best. Always seek professional help, but here’s what brings me out of a stuck phase:

  • The mind/body connect is so real; whether your body is asking for rest, movement, a workout, or just a walk outside, tuning in and responding to what it needs can work wonders for your mental state.

  • On tough days, even basic tasks like eating can feel overwhelming. When that happens, try to fit in something simple, like a protein shake, and don’t forget your vitamins. Small steps truly count.

I’ve found that simply applying my favorite scented lotion can be grounding. As I do, I take a moment to repeat kind affirmations as a small way to be present and gentle with myself.
