No Mascara, Makeup Look

The No Mascara Makeup Look has grown naturally out of the shift toward minimal beauty, “skinimalism,” and celebrating what’s already there. The idea is simple: you still wear a light amount of makeup, but you let your lashes stay bare, hence “No mascara”.

What’s interesting is how elevated the result can look. Chic, effortless, and surprisingly still just as polished. It’s a vibe we’re seeing everywhere, from runways to even celebrities who are embracing soft, undone lashes or skipping mascara and makeup altogether.

Personally, even though I love the way mascara can lengthen and enhance my eyes, I’ve noticed that I’m reaching for it less and less in my everyday routine. After skincare and a tinted SPF, a quick curl is all I do before my work day.

And honestly? My lashes have thanked me. They’ve become stronger, healthier looking, and far less prone to breakage. Let’s be real, the most annoying part of removing makeup at the end of the day is always the mascara!

Of course, skipping mascara isn’t for everyone, and that’s the beauty of makeup… you get to decide what works best for you.

What about you? What are your thoughts on the no-mascara trend? Are you using mascara a little less these days?

Loved this and beautiMod IG post found here!

Personally, I love the look of mascara and tend to lean dramatically in how I wear it. It wasn’t my plan to stop wearing mascara, but I’ve come to appreciate the way I look without it. There are days when I finish my face, and just don’t feel like applying mascara. I still want to accentuate my eyes, so I play with different shadows (neutrals, shimmer, glitter, pops of color) and eyeliner looks (black mostly, but a color might be thrown in). I also love a good lip! From nudes to reds, count me in!

As a professional MUA, I love celebrating diversity in artistic self-expression, and this look expands the options to create different styles that reflect our mood or image. Embracing the no-mascara trend can offer a softer, more natural look, depending on how the eyes are emphasized, which can be refreshing and empowering for many.

Some options for emphasizing your eyes include:

*Curling lashes
*Lining waterline, which is called tight-lining (top, bottom, or both)
*Adding a wing (can use brown, black, or add a pop of color)
*Applying eyeshadow, can use neutrals or shimmers for softness
*Defining brow arch (brow gel or brow liner)

It’s exciting to see how clients respond to these subtle changes and discover new ways to highlight their features.

*A bold lip, such as using red! ‘What is the Red Lip Theory’ Link
*A bold blush, such as using the ‘Cloud Blush Trend’ Link
*A graphic eyeliner or sultry smoky eye
*A glitter eyeshadow (looks beautiful with a swipe under the eye as well)
